JACKSON, TENN. (November 4, 2010) - The Jackson Generals released the logos for the 2011 Southern League All-Star Game on Thursday. The All-Star game, presented by State Farm, will take place on Tuesday, June 21, 2011.

"It has been 12 years since we last hosted the Southern League All-Star Game, and it will probably be another 10 years before we host again," stated Jackson Generals General Manager Tom Hanson. "We are thrilled to have this major event in Jackson and believe that it will have a tremendous impact on the entire community."

The All-Star logos were developed by Louisville, Kentucky-based Studio Simon. Studio Simon has teamed up with over 100 professional, collegiate and amateur sports teams, leagues and businesses on the development of complete team identity systems as well as All-Star and special event logos. Studio Simon also created the new brand identity for the Jackson Generals, which were unveiled in September of this year.

"We are very excited about the look of the logo as it fully embraces our new brand," said Generals Assistant General Manager Jason Compton. "This was very important in the development of the logo. We wanted to be consistent with the overall feel of the new Jackson Generals brand as we go into our inaugural season as the Generals," Compton added.

Including the game on June 21st, the Generals will host two days of All-Star festivities promoting Jackson and West Tennessee. The festivities will begin on Monday night, June 20th, at Pringles Park with the Southern League Home Run Derby and All-Star Gala.

This marks the second time that Jackson has hosted the Southern League All-Star Game. In 1999, Pringles Park was the site for the Southern League's "Mid-Summer Classic" with the West squad beating the team from the Eastern Division 5-2. Two players from the 1999 game were Joe Crede (Birmingham Barons), currently a Major League Baseball free agent, and Aubrey Huff, of the World Champion San Francisco Giants. The MVP of the game was Barons' outfielder Jeff Inglin, who was also the MVP of the following year's All-Star Game. He is the only two-time All-Star Game MVP in Southern League history.

The Jackson Generals open the 2011 season on Thursday, April 7th when the Generals visit the Mississippi Braves. The home opener is slated for Wednesday, April 13th against the defending Southern League Champion Jacksonville Suns. Season tickets, which include a reserved seat to the All-Star Game, are currently on sale by calling Pringles Park office, Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm at 731-988-5299.
