Flying Squirrels Announce Pig Pickin' Contest
One of Four Piglets to be Named Club's New 'Rally Pig'

RICHMOND, VA - The Flying Squirrels have announced a Pig Pickin' Contest where fans are encouraged to vote for one of four piglets to become the team's new Rally Pig. Voting begins today and will run through Thursday, March 3rd, on the Richmond Times-Dispatch website, TimesDispatch.com, search: contests. The winning piglet will be unveiled at the Flying Squirrels' Fan Fest on Saturday, March 5th.

"We continue to be all about creating new ballpark characters and experiences," said Flying Squirrels' Vice President/COO Todd "Parney" Parnell. "I feel like the piglet that is selected as our Rally Pig will become an instant hit with our fans and one of the featured attractions at The Diamond."

The four piglets come from Broken Road Farm in Amelia Courthouse, Va.

In addition to voting for the Rally Pig, fans can also enter to win a Pig Pickin' Grand Prize consisting of two 24-game Mini-Plans, a Party Deck reservation for 25 guests on April 11th, a first pitch opportunity on April 11th, a Flying Squirrels t-shirt, a Flying Squirrels hat, and a special visit from the Rally Pig. Fans can enter at TimesDispatch.com, search: contests. Deadline to enter the contest is also Thursday, March 3rd.

Individual game tickets for the 2011 season of Flying Squirrels will go on sale for the first time during Flying Squirrels' Fan Fest at The Diamond on Saturday, March 5th. Season tickets and mini-plan packages are currently available and can be purchased by calling (804) 359-FUNN (3866), visiting the Flying Squirrels Ticket Office at The Diamond or visiting SquirrelsBaseball.com.
