After being shut out for the first seven innings, the Sens scored two runs in the eighth inning, rallying with two outs and no one on base. Adam Fox drew a walk which was followed by an Archie Gilbert single. Fox then scored on a pinch-hit single by Tim Pahuta. Jonathan Tucker followed by reaching on a bunt single, driving in Gilbert with the tying run.
After Bowie took a 4-3 lead in the top of the ninth, the Sens again rallied. Tyler Moore, Devin Ivany and Buck Coats all reached on errors. With one out, Fox delivered a single to tie the game and Gilbert followed by grounding a hit down the third base line to drive in the game winner sending 4,133 fans home happy.
Pat McCoy earned the win, retiring two batters in the top of the ninth. Jose Diaz took the tough luck loss for Bowie.
Luis Atilano started for the Sens and went the first five innings, striking out two and walking two while allowing two runs. He was followed by Henry Rodriguez and Erik Arnesen. With the win, the Sens take the series and improve to 2-1 on the season while Bowie falls to 1-2.
The opening homestand continues on Monday night as the New Britain Rock Cats invade Metro Bank Park for a three-game series. On Monday, RH Erik Davis makes his Sens debut opposed by RH Liam Hendriks for New Britain.
