Matt Antonelli had two hits in his first game with the Senators and Jesus Valdez also had two hits. It was the first time in the past ten games that Harrisburg failed to hit a home run.
The Senators scored first, with two runs in the first inning, but the Curve erupted later in the game to put the game away. Erik Davis started and left after two plus innings with an unknown injury. Jimmy Barthmaier, Matt Chico and Pat McCoy were called on for the Senators out of the bullpen. Altoona had a three-run inning and two four-run innings. The Curve hit four home runs in the ballgame, two three-run dingers, a two-run home run and a solo shot that accounted for nine of their 13 runs. For the first time this season, the Senators had a regular player pitch as Bill Rhinehart pitched the final inning.
The Senators go on the road for four games at Richmond beginning Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. The game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, and on your ipad or iphone beginning at 6:50 p.m.
