Derek Sharp, Lancaster's Assistant General Manager, who has been with the organization since 2008, has been named Interim General Manager for the remainder of the 2011 California League season.
In addition, Brad Seymour, who was the JetHawks General Manager from 2004-08, has been named Senior Consultant for the organization.
Seymour currently also serves as Vice President and General Manager of the Lake County (Ohio) Captains, a Cleveland Indians affiliate under the direction of the Peter A. Carfagna ownership group which also controls the Lancaster franchise. Seymour, along with team President Peter E. Carfagna, will have direct oversight of the day-to-day activities of the JetHawks.
"The Lancaster franchise wishes Larry well in his new personal endeavors and we are confident that the on-site leadership of Derek Sharp, who has been with the club for several years, will help the JetHawks continue to thrive throughout the 2011 season and beyond," said JetHawks' Chairman Peter A. Carfagna. "Additionally, with Brad Seymour and Peter E. Carfagna providing direct oversight of the organization, we expect the JetHawks will continue to show marked improvement in what Antelope Valley baseball fans have come to expect when visiting Clear Channel Stadium."
Sharp welcomes the challenge of guiding the JetHawks' front office staff and maintaining the franchise's status as the top family entertainment option in the Antelope Valley.
"I welcome the opportunity that the Carfagna family has provided me with and wish Larry all the best," Sharp said. "Larry has been an immense asset to the JetHawks organization since the club's inception in 1996. Along with our great staff, we will continue to carry out the excitement the JetHawks bring to the Antelope Valley from this point forward and into the future."
