Bleier came out of the bullpen last Monday after Brandon Webb made a rehab start and worked five innings against Tulsa. In the game, Bleier surrendered two runs, one of which was earned, on three hits.
Sunday afternoon, Bleier once again faced the Drillers and earned his first victory of the season. The Davie, Fla., native struck out two and stranded six runners in a 3-0 RoughRiders victory. That win extended Frisco's winning streak to five.
On the year, Bleier is 1-2 with a 4.50 earned run average. He has worked at least six innings in four of his five starts in 2011.
Bleier is the second Frisco hurler to earn the Texas League's weekly honor. Martin Perez won the award after tossing a rain-shortened perfect game at Arkansas April 19.
The RoughRiders return home for a four-game series against first-place San Antonio Wednesday night. First pitch is set for 7:05 from Dr Pepper Ballpark.
