Salisbury, Md. - With nobody out and one aboard in the top of the second, both teams were called off the field with the Shorebirds leading 1-0 courtesy of a Ty Kelly home run. The teams never returned to the field and the game was suspended.
After an hour and five minute rain delay before the game started, Ty Kelly launched a home run to right-center field to give the 'Birds a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
The game will be continued as part of a doubleheader when the Shorebirds travel to Hagerstown next week.
The Shorebirds play the Kannapolis Intimidators in game one of four on Sunday night at 5:05 p.m. LHP Tim Berry will start game one in Kannapolis.
