In seven games, Lombardozzi batted .538 with one home run, eight runs, and an RBI. He had 14 hits over two series against Binghamton and Akron, including two three-hit games. In Saturday's loss to Akron, Lombardozzi led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo shot, the third time he has done that this season. The Fulton, Maryland native is tied for first in the league in triples (6), and tied for third in hits with 75.
Lombardozzi is in his first full season with the Senators. The 22-year old, was selected by the Washington Nationals in the 19th round of the 2008 draft out of St. Petersburg Junior College. Baseball America ranks him as the 13th top prospect in the Nats organization. In 2009, he won South Atlantic League Player of the Week in the month of July.
