San Francisco Giants' left-hander Barry Zito tossed a complete game, two hit shutout, as the Fresno Grizzlies blanked the Salt Lake Bees 2-0 on Tuesday night. Zito, who is on an injury rehab assignment for a left foot sprain, fanned seven and walked two. He surrendered a two out single in the third inning by Tyson Auer and Efren Navarro singled with two outs in the eighth with Zito retiring fifteen consecutive batters in between the hits.
Lost in that performance was a solid outing by Salt Lake lefty Ryan Ketchner, who, at one point, also set down fifteen straight hitters. Ketchner (3-4) allowed two runs on four hits with one strikeout and one walk. The two Fresno runs came on solo homers; Brad Eldred in the second inning and Darren Ford in the eighth.
