Erik Davis pitched six strong innings and allowed two runs, one earned, for his fourth win on the season. Pat Lehman inherited a bases-loaded no outs situation in the seventh striking out two and one fly ball out. Rafael Martin pitched a perfect eighth inning to earn his second save.
Trailing 2-0 into the bottom of the sixth, Josh Johnson hit a solo home run to draw the Senators to within 2-1. With two outs, Bill Rhinehart doubled and Tyler Moore followed with a two-run home run, his 13th on the season but first since June 8th, giving the Sens a 3-2 lead.
Archie Gilbert had two hits in the game for the Senators.
With the win, the Senators are now 40-31 on the season while Richmond drops to 36-35. These two teams see each other once again in just four days as they'll play a three-game series in Richmond next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
