A sixth inning single by Elevys Gonzalez put Bradenton ahead for good Thursday
DUNEDIN, FL - The Bradenton Marauders, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, looked a lot like the Pittsburgh Pirates Thursday, beating the Dunedin Blue Jays 6-2 at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium.

For the fourth time this season the Marauders touted two Major League rehabbers in their lineup. Bradenton is now 4-0 in those instances. Righty Ross Ohlendorf got the start, firing four innings of scoreless, two-hit ball. He struck out three and did not issue a walk while throwing just over 40 pitches. Jose Tabata exited after two at-bats, going 0-2. He played only three innings in the field while returning from a quad strain.

Working behind Ohlendorf's strong start, Bradenton finally broke through in the sixth inning on offense. The Marauders scored twice on a bases loaded single from Elevys Gonzalez. He drove in Jarek Cunningham and Robbie Grossman, who scored his league-leading 81st run. The rally knocked Dunedin's Asher Wojciechowski from the game after five and two thirds.

Bradenton continued to push on offense in the seventh, scoring twice more on an RBI triple from Adaberto Santos and an RBI single from David Rubinstein. Two more runs came home in the ninth on a Rubinstein sacrifice fly and a Cunningham single.

The only two runs for Dunedin came off Brett Lorin in relief, the scheduled starter pushed back for Ohlendorf. Lorin earned the win allowing two runs in four innings. Dunedin's starting third baseman was Blue Jays top prospect Brett Lawrie. He went 1-3 with an RBI on Triple-A rehab for a fractured hand.

The win moves Bradenton to 12-9 in the second half. The Marauders face Dunedin again Friday at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. Jhonathan Ramos will pitch against rehabbing Dustin McGowan. First pitch is set for 7pm with radio coverage at 6:45 on 1280-AM WTMY. For more information visit BradentonMarauders.com.
