Blair Walters provided more than mere relief Sunday afternoon for Great Falls.

Walters struck out 10 over seven two-hit innings -- both career highs -- out of the bullpen in the short-season Voyagers' 2-0 victory over the Orem Owlz.

Walters (3-0) -- the White Sox's 11th-round draftee out of the University of Hawaii last month -- allowed Trevor Hairgrove's third-inning single then retired 14 straight batters before Drew Martinez's bunt single in the eighth. He didn't issue a walk.

The 21-year-old left-hander's first four pro games were all starts. He went 2-0 with a 4.00 ERA and tallied 17 strikeouts in 18 frames prior to relieving Scott Snodgress on Sunday.

Snodgress allowed three hits over two scoreless frames before Walters entered. Emerging from the 'pen is old hat for Walters; in two seasons for the Hawaii Rainbows, he made 50 relief appearances.

The Voyagers scored both their runs off of Owlz starter Joe Melioris (2-1) before their bullpen shined as well. Erik Gregersen and Aaron Meade finished the game with six one-hit shutout innings.

Orem earned a split of the day's doubleheader with a 7-2 win.
