MOBILE, Ala. - A 1-1 tie was broken in the top of the 10 th inning on Sunday night at Hank Aaron Stadium as a wild pitch from Bryan Woodall gave the Birmingham Barons a 2-1 edge over the BayBears in the finale of their five-game series.

Alden Carrithers began the 10th inning with an infield single up the middle and advanced all the way to third on a sac bunt from Justin Greene. Woodall (3-3) bounced back to fan Luis Sierra before intentionally walking Tyler Kuhn. Woodall also allowed Jose Martinez to reach on a free pass before firing a pitch in the dirt that got past Ed Easley, allowing Carrithers to score the go-ahead run.

Nathan Jones (S, 7) rattled off a perfect bottom of the 10th inning as A.J. Pollock grounded to third to end the contest. Birmingham (53-47, 13-17) retired the last 15 batters that they faced as the Barons received four perfect innings from their bullpen including Leyson Septimo (4-1) as he set down his former team in order in the bottom of the ninth.

Jarrod Parker started for the BayBears (60-40, 22-8) and tossed six innings for just the second time this year. He allowed one run on four hits while striking out four. Parker's only blemish came in the top of the sixth as Tyler Kuhn led off with a single and took second on a groundout from Martinez. Brandon Short knocked Kuhn home with a base hit to center.

Southpaw Justin Edwards was solid from the start for the Barons as he also lasted six frames. He allowed the BayBears to even the score at 1-1 in the bottom of the sixth. Paul Goldschmidt and Taylor Harbin each walked around a single from Ryan Wheeler. Marc Krauss grounded into a fielder's choice to score Goldschmidt for the only BayBear tally.

The BayBears hit the road on Tuesday night to battle the Mississippi Braves at Trustmark Park with a 7:05 first pitch. Lefty Tyler Skaggs (1-1) starts for the BayBears against right-hander Randall Delgado (5-4). The BayBears are back home on Sunday, July 31 to host the Chattanooga Lookouts at 6:05 p.m. It's a Family Day at "The Hank" as kids can play catch on the field before the game and run the bases after.
