(FREDERICK, MD) As Hurricane Irene bore down upon the mid-Atlantic region, Saturday's ballgame between the Potomac Nationals and Frederick Keys was postponed. The two teams have scheduled a doubleheader for Sunday at 1 P.M.
After taking the first game of the weekend series, Potomac is within 3.5 games of the Keys for the second half title in the Carolina League's Northern Division; the Nationals are 5.5 games ahead of Lynchburg for the division's second playoff spot.
Irene forced the postponement of all three games in Kinston, and has laid havoc upon the last week of the Carolina League's regular season schedule. Potomac will be in Lynchburg beginning on Tuesday for a critical four-game set.
