Cardinals prospect Tyler Lyons tossed five perfect innings, striking out five, en route to his first Arizona Fall League win Wednesday afternoon. The 23-year-old left-hander threw 39 of 57 pitches for strikes as he matched the longest outing in the AFL this season. No. 4 Brewers prospect Scooter Gennett went 3-for-4 out of the leadoff spot for Peoria, recording his second straight three-hit game as he raised his average to .383. Desert Dogs 11, Solar Sox 8
The Indians' Chad Huffman went 3-for-4 with five RBIs for Phoenix, launching a two-out grand slam in the eighth inning that put the Desert Dogs up for good. Teammate and top Athletics prospect Grant Green finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored, falling a single short of the cycle. Surprise 5, Scottsdale 4
Rangers catcher Elio Sarmiento went 2-for-4 out of the No. 8 spot, driving in a pair. Hitting right behind him, fellow Texas prospect Ryan Strausborger went 4-for-4 with a double. Scorpions catcher Derek Norris (Nationals) collected two hits, two RBIs and a run scored, stretching his hitting streak to 10 games.
