WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) The National Anthem is part of the pre-game ceremony for every Lexington Legends game, and the National Anthem tryouts are part of the preparation for every season.

The Legends, in partnership with ESPN Sports Radio 1300 and ABC 36, will hold their annual national anthem tryouts at Fayette Mall February 11 and 12 in the wing of the mall near Dick's Sporting Goods. Each participant will sing or play the anthem, and those selected by the judges will perform the anthem before a Legends' home game during the 2012 season.

The tryouts will run from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, February 11 and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, February 12.

Chris Cross, Mike Cameron and Matthew Laurance, hosts of "Sports Huddle" weekdays from 4-7 p.m. on ESPN Sports Radio 1300, will serve as masters of ceremonies. The panel of judges will include LM Communications Group General Manager Jim MacFarlane, Legends President and COO Andy Shea, Legends General Manager Seth Poteat and others.

"Our national anthem auditions are one of our signature events, and we look forward to it every year," said Poteat. "Not only do we get to see and hear countless talented individuals and groups from all over the Bluegrass, but this event also doubles as our season kick-off, and serves as a reminder to everyone that Spring and Opening Day are right around the corner."
