PORT ST. LUCIE, FL - The Binghamton Mets pounded out ten hits, including three from Darrell Ceciliani, but could not stop the Jacksonville Suns' offensive attack in an 8-3 loss today. The Suns are the Double-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins.

Gonzalez Germen, the 25-year-old native of the Dominican Republic, made the start for the Double-A Mets and racked up five strike outs. The righty went 7-7 with a 3.93 ERA in 21 starts with the Savannah Sand Gnats (Low-A) last year.

Germen got the hook in the bottom of the third inning with two runners aboard. Right-hander Taylor Whitenton took over and allowed a three-run home run, giving the Suns the lead for good.

Ceciliani led the way at the plate with a 3-for-5 day. He finished a home run shy of the cycle, the third time that has happened for a B-Met this spring. Fellow outfielder Cory Vaughn kept his hot start going with his second home run of the spring.

The B-Mets hit the road tomorrow to take on the Springfield Cardinals in Jupiter, FL. First pitch is scheduled for 1 PM.
