Voyager General Manager Kattie Meyer said the team was very excited by what ESPN Montana is capable of. "The quality and entertainment offered our fans is going to be top-notch with ESPN," Meyer said. "When you combine the Voyagers and ESPN you get two names full of tradition, so it was a no-brainer for us." ESPN Montana Market Manager Connor Myllymaki said the station was excited to get such a close connection to local sports. "Being closely involved with local sports was a top goal from the very beginning," Myllymaki said, "and the Voyagers' local history is as good as it gets. We're very proud to be the home of the Voyagers."
The broadcast programming is still being developed, but Seidel promised plenty of special content for Voyager fans. "There is going to be plenty of room for interviews, special features, and other great listening," Seidel said. "There are a couple of things in the works that I'm thrilled about and fans of the team should love." Seidel pledged that the team was "dedicated" to building a radio experience that pushes the envelope of what Voyagers fans expect.
The first broadcast on ESPN Montana 99.9 FM is on June 18 as the defending Pioneer League champion Great Falls Voyagers open the 2012 season in Helena. The Voyagers' home opener is June 20th at Centene Stadium.
