A right-handed pitcher, Nicasio will begin the season in the Rockies' starting rotation. He made his Major League debut in 2011 and was 4-4 in 13 starts before a season-ending neck injury on August 5th. Nicasio pitched for Tri-City in 2008 and led the team in strikeouts with 61.
Brothers and Reynolds will be the Rockies' two left-handed options out of the bullpen. Brothers is the most recent former Dust Devil on the roster, having pitched in Tri-City in 2009 after being selected in supplemental round of that year's draft. He was 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA for the Dust Devils. After making his Major League debut last year he was 1-2 with a 2.88 ERA in 48 games.
Reynolds has pitched out of the Rockies' bullpen the last two seasons, compiling a 2-2 record with a 3.54 ERA in 94 appearances. He spent the 2007 season with the Dust Devils after being drafted in the 20th round of that year's draft.
Pacheco will primarily be an infielder for the Rockies after spending most of the last four years as a catcher. He was called up to the Major League club last September and made appearances at catcher, first base, second base, and third base. He appeared in eight games with the Dust Devils in 2007 as an infielder before being converted to catcher and spending the entire 2008 season in Tri-City.
Two other former Dust Devils, outfielder Charlie Blackmon and infielder Hector Gomez, will begin the season on the Rockies' disabled list.
The Dust Devils' 2012 season begins on June 15th against the Everett AquaSox. Ticket packages are on sale now and start at just $49, with full-season tickets available for as low as $259. Special ticket rates are available for groups of 20 or more. Season tickets, mini-plans, and group tickets can be purchased by contacting the Dust Devils front office at (509) 544-8789 or at the Gesa Stadium box office.
