The Shorebirds took their only lead of the game in the first inning. Glynn Davis walked to open the inning. John Ruettiger followed with a single. Following an error by the shortstop Alfredo Lopez that loaded the bases, Gabriel Lino bounced into a double play that scored Davis.
Greensboro took the lead in the second. Terrence Dayleg and James Wooster hit back-to-back singles to open the inning. After a wild pitch advanced the runners, Josh Adams hit a grounder to third to tie the game at 1-1. Then, Ryan Goetz hit a sacrifice fly to center field to give the Grasshoppers a 2-1 lead.
The Shorebirds tied the game in the fifth inning. Davis and Ruettiger reached with singles to start the inning. Following a double steal, Lino connected on a sacrifice fly to left field to score Davis.
The Grasshoppers went without a hit between the fourth and ninth innings. The Shorebirds had one hit from the fifth through the ninth innings.
Greensboro third baseman Josh Adams hit a double to straight away center field in the tenth to score Ryan Rieger and Terrence Dayleg.
Down 4-2 in the bottom of the tenth, the Shorebirds responded. Jason Esposito singled and Connor Narron followed with a hit. Nicky Delmonico advanced the runners with a slow tapper up the first baseline. Then, Tommy Winegardner hit a sacrifice fly to left field to score Esposito. Sammie Starr struck out to end the game.
Kevin Cravey picked up the win for Greensboro over two scoreless innings. Jose Nivar was pinned with the loss for Delmarva. Nivar went 2.1 innings and allowed two hits and two runs.
Shorebirds starter Parker Bridwell went five innings and allowed just four hits and two runs. He struck out four and walked one. Bridwell faced just ten batters over the final three innings of his outing.
