GRAND CHUTE, WI - John Dishon's two-out, RBI double in the bottom of the ninth inning scored Yadiel Rivera from first base to give the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers a 4-3 victory over the Peoria Chiefs on Saturday afternoon on Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium. The Rattlers took a 3-2 lead into the top of the ninth, but the Chiefs scored a run in their last at bat to set the stage for Dishon's big hit.

Wisconsin (5-4) continued their trend of early runs by plating three in the bottom of the first inning against Chiefs starter Ben Wells. Chadwin Stang was hit by a pitch and moved to second on a ground out. Jason Rogers knocked in Stang with a ground rule double. Wells would hit Greg Hopkins to put two runners on base and Ben McMahan cashed in Rogers with another double. Hopkins crossed home plate on an RBI grounder by Rafael Neda.

The Rattlers have scored in the first inning in four straight games and in seven of the first nine games of the 2012 season.

Peoria (3-6) got on the board against Wisconsin starter David Goforth in the top of the third. Zeke DeVoss hit a two-run line drive homer that just cleared the 16' high wall in left field to leave the Rattlers with a one run lead.

Goforth struck out three and walked two over four innings and turned the ball over to Chad Pierce for the fifth inning. The Fond du Lac native gave up a pair of walks, a pair of hits, and struck out five over four scoreless innings. Pierce was in line for his first win of the season, until there were two outs in the top of the ninth.

Seth Harvey, who picked up the save in Thursday's win over the Chiefs, retired the first two batters in the top of the ninth. But, a walk and a single put runners on first and second for DeVoss. The Chiefs second baseman singled to center to send the tying run home and also move the potential go ahead run to third for Wes Darvill. Harvey deflected a grounder off the bat of Darvill to short and Rivera made a quick throw that barely got Darvill at first for the final out.

The game appeared to be heading to extra innings as Chiefs reliever Kyler Burke retired the first two Rattlers in the bottom of the ninth. Then, Rivera singled to get the game to Dishon.

Dishon had entered the game as a defensive replacement in the top of the eighth inning and was placed in the ninth spot in the order. He drilled a 1-1 pitch to the gap in left-center and Rivera raced home with the winning run.

The final game of the series is Sunday afternoon at 1:05pm. Andy Moye (0-0, 0.00) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. Willengton Cruz (0-2, 12.46) is set to start for the Chiefs.
