The Binghamton Mets (14-15) continue their six-game homestand with a three-game series against the New Britain Rock Cats (18-12), the Double-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, starting tonight at 6:35 PM.
B-Mets Previous Series (v Harrisburg, 1-2): After dropping the first two games of the series, the B-Mets avoided getting swept by the Harrisburg Senators with a walk-off win yesterday. The Senators scored five runs in the second inning against new B-Met starter Gonzalez Germen to take Friday night's game 7-4. Danny Rosenbaum fired a complete gave victory to lead Harrisburg to a 2-1 win on Saturday. Josh Rodriguez singled home the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth in Binghamton's 2-1 walk-off win on Sunday.
New Britain Previous Series (v Portland, 1-2): The Rock Cats come to the Southern Tier after dropping two of three to the last-place Portland Sea Dogs. Oscar Tejeda ripped a two-run home run to lead the Sea Dogs to a 4-3 win on Friday night. David Bromberg, Caleb Thielbar and Luis Perdomo combined to toss a shutout in the Rock Cats 5-0 win on Saturday. Portland took the rubber match 3-1 on Sunday.
B-Mets Briefing: Yesterday's win was Binghamton's first walk-off win of the season. It pushed them back to one game below .500. They currently sit fourth in the Eastern Division, trailing the Reading Phillies by 5.0 games. The B-Mets are hitting .253 as a team, ranking them eighth in the league. Their staff ERA is fourth-best at 3.18. The Binghamton starting rotation has compiled a 2.99 ERA.
New Britain Briefing: The Rock Cats have lost three of their last four games and currently sit in second place in the Eastern Division, 1.5 games behind the R-Phils. While their .245 team batting is last in the league, they have scored the fourth-most runs with 130. Their hitters have combined to strikeout 246 times, the most by any team.
