Ramsey Homers Twice, but Suns Fall in Extras 8-6

Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Suns (24-19) rallied to tie the game in the eighth inning, but could not hold the Greensboro Grasshoppers (32-13) as they went on to beat the Suns, 8-6, in ten innings at Municipal Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Suns starting pitcher Alex Meyer did not factor in the decision after going five innings allowing one run (solo home run) while striking out seven batters. Travis Henke suffered the loss, allowing three runs over 1.2 innings out of the bullpen in his Suns debut. Caleb Ramsey blasted two home runs in the game, a two-run shot in the second inning and the game-tying three-run homer in the eighth, to finish the game with five RBIs. Matt Skole cranked his team leading ninth home run of the season.

Grasshoppers starter Charlie Lowell allowed two runs on three hits over six innings in a no-decision. Reliever Scott Lyman (1-0) earned the win, allowing four runs on three hits over four innings out of the bullpen. Third baseman Josh Adams led the Greensboro attack going 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. Centerfielder Brent Keys finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

The Suns will now travel to Lakewood and begin a six game series with the BlueClaws, starting with a doubleheader on Thursday night at 6:05 p.m.
