To make roster room, RHP EDGAR RAMIREZ has been transferred to Double-A Binghamton.
Young, 32, spent the first 33 games of the season on the Bisons disabled list. The 6' 10" starter is recovering from shoulder surgery last May. He was 1-0 with a 1.88ERA in four starts with the Mets in 2011 before the injury.
Young was activated off the Bisons disabled list on May 10 of this year and transferred to St. Lucie for his first action of the season. In three starts, the righty was 1-0 with a 3.18ERA in 17.0 innings of work (17H, 2BB, 7K). He earned the win in his last start, May 25 against the Charlotte Stone Crabs, with 6.1 innings of three-run ball.
Ramirez was 0-1 with a 3.60ERA in two relief appearances for the Bisons (5.0IP, 3H, BB, 3K).
