VIERA, Fla. - The Florida State League announced on Wednesday that second baseman Shea Vucinich and right-handed relief pitcher Casey Medlen from the Brevard County Manatees, have been added to the North Division roster for the 2012 Florida State League All-Star Game. The game will take place this Saturday at Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, Fla.

In 58 games this season, Vucinich is hitting .233 with four home runs and 21 runs batted in. He had a torrid May as he hit .302 (26-for-86) with a .394 on-base percentage and a .442 slugging percentage in the month.

Vucinich is in his second season with the Manatees, as he was the team's everyday third baseman in 2011. Last season, he finished with a .260 batting average with nine homers and 51 RBI.

The Coeur d'Alene, Idaho native is in his third professional season. He was drafted by Milwaukee in the 20th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft out of Washington State University.

Medlen has been Brevard County's closer this season and is 2-4 with a 3.67 earned run average. He has converted nine of his 11 save opportunities so far in 2012.

He has finished 20 games for the Manatees, which is fifth-best in the Florida State League. Among relief pitchers in the FSL, he ranks fifth with a 12.00 strikeouts per nine innings ratio. The Apopka, Fla. native has struck out 36 batters and has walked just six in 27 innings of work.

Medlen was drafted by the Brewers in the 37th round of the 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of the University of North Florida. Following the 2011 season, Medlen played in the Arizona Fall League with the Peoria Javelinas.

Right-handed starting pitcher Jimmy Nelson and Hiram Burgos were originally named Florida State League midseason All-Stars but will not play in the game due to their promotions to Double-A Huntsville.
