To make room the roster, the following moves were made:
LHP Mike Ballard was placed on the disabled list. INF Stephen King was transferred to Potomac and INF Chris McConnell was given his unconditional release.
INF Chris Marrero ended his rehab with the Senators as did RHP Ryan Mattheus, who has been activated from the disabled list by the Nationals and is back in the big leagues.

RHP Austin Bibens-Dirkx spent one-day in Harrisburg, pitching in relief on Sunday, and has been promoted back to Syracuse.
Walters was acquired by the Nationals from Arizona on July 31, 2011 for RHP Jason Marquis. Walters enters this season as the #19 prospect in the Nationals organization according to Baseball America.
Bloxom was the Nationals 11th round selection in the 2009 draft. At the time of his promotion from Potomac to Harrisburg, he was tied for the league lead in home runs with 12 in the Carolina League.
Perry was originally selected in the first round with the 21st pick by the Tigers in the 2008 draft. He was acquired by the Nationals in exchange for Collin Balester on December 9, 2011. He appeared in seven games with the Nationals this season. Altogether, he has appeared in 156 big league games since 2009, all in relief.
With these moves, the Senators roster stands at 24 active and five on the disabled list.
