"We are proud to partner with the Delaware Brest Cancer Coalition on what has become an annual event. Any money or awareness we are able to generate will go a long way in hopefully defeating this brutal disease," said Blue Rocks general manager Chris Kemple. "I anxiously await the day where we no longer have to do this event. But until that day, we are proud to associate ourselves with the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition."
"The partnership with the Wilmington Blue Rocks allows the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition to further educate the community about breast health and breast cancer and also raise money for our programs and services. We are proud to partner with our local baseball team who are committed to making a difference in their community," said DBCC executive director Vicky Cooke.
During the game, there will also be special Blue Rocks Pink Jersey auction to benefit DBCC. Attendees are encouraged to wear pink to the game. Tickets can be purchased for $9 at www.debreastcancer.org. A portion of proceeds from tickets sales which mention DBCC will benefit the organization. For additional ticket information, please visit www.bluerocks.com or contact Stefani Rash at 302-472-5718 or srash@bluerocks.com.
About DBCC:
The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition is a 501(c)(3) organization offering statewide programs and services of education, outreach, and early detection and treatment of breast cancer. Its mission is to create a community where every person diagnosed with breast cancer is a survivor, and fear and doubt are replaced with knowledge and hope.
Headquartered in Wilmington with offices in Sussex and Kent Counties, DBCC's programs reach diverse communities to deliver messages that address their unique concerns about breast cancer and early detection. Recognizing the barriers of language, culture, and economics, DBCC trains community advocates to educate and encourage women to take responsibility for breast health. DBCC helps women with low incomes or those with little or no insurance to receive free or reduced-cost care. DBCC also supports the National Breast Cancer Coalition and their research efforts by helping to facilitate participation in local clinical trials.
