OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha Storm Chasers sent the fans home happy on Sunday afternoon after the Chasers blanked the Albuquerque Isotopes, 6-0. The shutout was the fifth on the season for the Storm Chasers and the victory pushed their record to 53-21 and an impressive 33-12 at home. Wil Myers broke a 0-0 tie in the sixth inning with his 14th Triple-A home run of the season and 27th on the year when you add in his 13 jacks from Double-A Northwest Arkansas.

Will Smith (3-4) was rock solid in his 6.0 scoreless innings on the hill, picking up the win after punching out nine batters while allowing just three hits. Brandon Sisk, Jeremy Jeffress and Ryan Verdugo all worked an inning out of the bullpen to hold Albuquerque in check.

Both offenses were held out of the run column until the sixth when Omaha (53-31) broke through for three with the rally being started by Anthony Seratelli who lead-off the inning and was hit by a pitch. Two batters later, Johnny Giavotella singled to advance Seratelli to set up Myers for his go-ahead three-run bomb.

David Lough bunted for a base hit in the seventh but was erased on a bunt force-out at second base by Derrick Robinson. Following a pitching change, Max Ramirez singled to right to push Robinson to third. Derrick scored and Ramirez darted over to third when the next batter, Anthony Seratelli, singled to right. Rehabbing Kansas City Royal, Lorenzo Cain, extended the Chasers' lead over Albuquerque (47-37) to 6-0 when he singled to right-center field to plate Ramirez and Seratelli.

From there, Jeffress pitched a perfect eighth inning while Verdugo came out of the pen and tossed a scoreless ninth inning to successfully end any chance of an Isotopes comeback.
