(Reading, Pa.)-- In conjunction with the Eastern League, the Reading Phillies have announced one change to the Eastern Division roster for the Baseballtown All-Star Classic. The Baseballtown All-Star Classic will be played at FirstEnergy Stadium on Wednesday, July 11 at 7:05 p.m.
Reading Phillies right-handed relief pitcher Jordan Whatcott has been added to the Eastern Division roster. Whatcott takes the place of Reading right-handed reliever Justin Friend, who was promoted to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs of the Triple-A International League on June 30th.
This season, Whatcott is 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA with one save since joining the Reading Phillies on April 25. In 15 appearances as a reliever, Whatcott is 1-0 with a 1.88 ERA and 25 strikeouts over 24 innings pitched. He has also made four starts this year where the Arizona native is 0-1 with a 4.80 ERA.
