Burlington, IA -

The Clinton LumberKings have their first player award of the 2012 season. Ji-Man Choi has been named Midwest League Offensive Player of the Week for June 25-July 1.

Choi, who is currently riding an 11-game hitting streak, hit .538 (14-26) with 4 home runs, a double, seven runs and seven RBIs during the week of the award.

Choi joined the club on May 19 after spending the start of 2012 in extended spring training as he worked his way into shape after a back injury in 2011. He has had an immediate impact on Clinton's offense. The first baseman is hitting .316 with six home runs, 21 RBIs and 25 runs in just 32 games.

The last Clinton player to be named Midwest League Player of the Week was Stephen Kohlscheen in the first week of August 2011. Kevin Rivers and Kalian Sams also took home the award in 2011.
