Yankee RHP David Phelps Added to Trenton

(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced today that RHP David Phelps has been optioned from the Yankees to Trenton. Phelps last pitched for the Yankees on Wednesday, placing him on schedule to pitch for the Thunder during Monday's 12:05 pm game. Subsequently, RHP Mikey O'Brien has been placed on the 7-day disabled list with left leg bursitis.

Phelps pitched for the Yankees against the Rays on Wednesday and struck out eight in 4 1/3 innings of work. The Notre Dame product has appeared in 15 games with New York this season and posted a record of 1-3 with a 3.05 ERA. Phelps went 6-0 with a 2.04 ERA when he last pitched for the Thunder during the 2010 season.
