BlueClaws Take Game 2 with 11-4 Win
07/05/2012 9:33 PM ET
CHARLESTON, W.V. - Lakewood set the pace with a four-run first inning to cruise to an 11-4 win against West Virginia Thursday night.

The BlueClaws led 4-1 through four innings, 8-1 through six innings and 11-2 entering the 9th inning one night after being drubbed by West Virginia 13-2.

Starting pitcher Lino Martinez allowed one run in four innings after skipping his spot in the rotation four days ago due to a strained lat. He was removed after four innings due to pitch count reasons and not because of injury, but because he didn't complete five innings he was not eligible for the victory. Gabriel Arias pitched three shutout innings in place of Martinez for the win to move his record to 3-4 this season.

The BlueClaws and West Virginia Power will play Game 3 of a five-game series at Appalachian Power Park Friday evening. Hoby Milner (0-1, 12.00) will be making his fourth professional appearance and second start with the BlueClaws. He will be opposed by West Virginia's lefty Zack Dodson (3-5, 6.21) who earned the victory against Lakewood nine days ago.

First pitch for Friday's game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Listen to all the action on WOBM 1160-AM and WOBM 1310-AM beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the BlueClaws Beat pre-game show.
