Things started a little shaky for Snappers'
starter, David
Hurlbut when leadoff man Sean Jamieson hit a triple to start the
ballgame.
Eliezer Mesa drove in Jamieson with a fielder's choice ground out to
short,
putting the Bees up 1-0 in the top of the first.
The Bees' Michael Fabiaschi hit a leadoff triple
to start
the bottom of the third and then scored on a passed ball by Matt Koch
making it
2-0. The Bees' added two more runs with
a solo homer by Eliezer Mesa and RBI single by Rashun Dixon taking a
4-0 lead.
The Bees tacked on another run in the top of the
fourth with
a sac fly by Mesa scoring Max Muncy making it 5-0.
The Snappers got their first run of the game after
Drew
Leachman hit an RBI double scoring Miguel Sano, who walked in his
at-bat. Then,
Jhon Goncalves hit an RBI single scoring Leachman lessening the Bees'
lead by
two.
Bees' starter, Chris Lamb worked four and one
third innings
allowing five hits and two runs, while striking out three.
David Hurlbut worked six innings allowing seven
hits and
five runs, while striking out two in his sixth start for the Snappers.
Steven
Evans came in for his Snappers debut to relieve Hurlbut in the top of
the
seventh.
Evans pitched three scoreless innings allowing
only one hit,
while striking out three.
The Bees' Jonathan Joseph came in for the bottom
of the
ninth. A.J. Pettersen hit a solo home run to bring the score to 5-3
with two
outs, but Miguel Sano followed with a ground out to third to end the
ballgame.
Hurlbut picked up the loss for the Snappers, he is now 3-2.
The Snappers conclude their series with the
Burlington Bees
tomorrow night at 7:00 PM. On the mound
for the Snappers is Ryan O'Rourke, who will be making his first start
for the
Snappers this season. O'Rourke has worked forty- six innings out of the
bullpen
with a 2-3 record and 5.28 ERA. Tomorrow is Monster Deal Monday, where
