RENO, Nev.– The first-place Reno Aces return home Thursday night for a four-game "What Could Have Been Weekend" series, to find out how things would be if Reno's team wasn't called the Aces. Highlights include beer specials, a bobblehead giveaway, a mini helmet giveaway for kids, and fireworks.
The Aces will be known as the "Reno Ghost Riders" throughout the homestand, complete with new uniforms, caps, and a different mascot.
Fans can enjoy $2 beer specials through the middle of the fifth inning on Thursday night as the Aces take on the Salt Lake Bees for Coors Light Thirsty Thursday™ presented by ESPN Radio 94.5 FM and Reno News & Review.
Friday's game will include Saint Mary's Fireworks Friday presented by KRNV News 4 with postgame fireworks. The Aces will aim to Strike Out Hunger with a food drive presented by U.S. Foods to benefit the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. Wives of Aces players and coaches will be outside the stadium before the game collecting nonperishable food items. Peanut butter, tuna, and canned fruit are some of the most in-demand items that are requested. Fans who donate will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win Aces memorabilia.
Saturday's game will feature the What Could Have Been Weekend Bobblehead giveaway presented by KOLO 8 News Now. The game will also be televised on my21 TV.
Sunday will be highlighted by the Renown Children's Hospital Family Funday. Fans can play baseball bingo for the chance to win an autograph mini bat, and one lucky fan will win a game-worn jersey just by participating. The game will also feature Save Your Skull Day presented by Kohl's Cares and Renown Children's Hospital. Lucky fans 12 and under will receive an Aces mini helmet and a scoop of ice cream.
The Ghost Riders jerseys worn by players throughout the homestand will be auctioned on Sunday. Proceeds will benefit the Reno Aces Foundation. The game-worn caps will be auctioned off online.
Kids will be invited to run the bases after the Friday, Saturday and Sunday games.
First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. the first three nights, with a 1:05 p.m. start Sunday.
