"Josh has just been wonderful in trying to find ways to amplify the in game experience for our fans. His management and leadership skills with staff and the community have allowed us to reach new levels of success in our sponsorship marketing programs," says Silber Weiss.
Olerud joined the Nationals two seasons ago from Rockford of the Frontier League and according to Weiss, "has just done an extraordinary job. As soon as he joined us he oversaw the expansion of our club house, bringing it in on time and within budget. This last offseason he was the point guy to oversee the complete reconstruction of our field. He got contractors to bid and then was our representative to make sure the job was done right, on budget and delivered on time."
Nationals' owner Art Silber adds: "Josh has just done a wonderful job for us. He has forged new partnerships for us with the business community and established a relationship with our sponsors and fans that are greatly appreciated."
Olerud's promotion earns him the title of vice president and general manager.
"I want to thank Art, Lani and Seth for the support and confidence in me. Our staff is looking to finish this season strong and continue our growth in the community," say Josh Olerud the Bloomington, Minn. native and graduate of Minnesota State University at Mankato.
