07/17/2012 11:12 PM ET
Springfield, MO - Tulsa ended Springfield's seven-game winning streak with a 7-0 win to even the series at a game apiece.

Springfield saw the return of right hander Scott Gorgen from Memphis on the mound against big leaguer Josh Outman of Tulsa.

Scoreless for the first three and a half innings, Kent Matthes unloaded a Scott Gorgen pitch over the left field wall to give Tulsa a 1-0 lead.

In the 6th, Matthes walked and Tim Torres doubled to make it 2-0 and knock Gorgen out of the game. Justin Wright entered out of the bullpen and promptly allowed an RBI double, hit a batter, allowed an RBI single and a sacrifice fly to cap the scoring at four runs and giving the Drillers a 5-0 advantage.

Kevin Thomas pitched a scores 8th inning, but, with two outs in the 9th, allowed a double to Corey Dickerson and a two-run homer to Jimmy Cesario to make it 7-0 heading into the final inning.

Springfield amounted just four hits on offense and had just one base runner past second base in the game.

The Cardinals continue their four-game series against the Tulsa Drillers Wednesday night at 7:05pm. Springfield will send Richard Castillo to the mound against Dan Houston.
