Vote for the Dust Devils' Players of the Month
07/20/2012 7:04 PM ET

For the first time ever, Tri-City Dust Devils fans can help select the Dust Devils' Player and Pitcher of the Month. The Tri-City Dust Devils Booster Club will recognize a position player and a pitcher who has demonstrated outstanding play, leadership, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm for the Dust Devils. Fans will choose the winner of each award from nominees selected by the Tri-City Dust Devils Booster Club, Dust Devils staff, and local media.

Fans can vote in two ways: picking up a ballot at Gesa Stadium or by email. The ballots will be available at the U.S. Cellular Information Booth at Gesa Stadium during the games from Friday, July 20 through Tuesday, July 24; all ballots must be returned by the end of Tuesday's game against the Spokane Indians. If email is the preferred option, send a message with your choices for each award to TriCityDustDevilsBoosterClub@gmail.com. All votes must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday July 24.

The Player and Pitcher of the Month Award winners will be announced at the game on Thursday, July 26 versus the Spokane Indians.

The nominees for Player of the Month in July are infielder Zach Osborne, who's hitting .311 with nine runs in 18 games; outfielder Francisco Sosa, who's hitting .266 with 14 runs and 18 runs batted in in 29 games; and outfielder Kyle Von Tungeln, who's hitting .306 with 14 runs and six runs batted in in 16 games. In the running for Pitcher of the Month in July are righty Shane Broyles, who is 3-0 with a 1.80 earned run average and 18 strikeouts in 25 innings pitched; lefty Brook Hart who is 3-1 with three saves in 11 appearances; and right-hander Seth Willoughby, who is 2-0 with two saves in nine appearances.

The Dust Devils wrap up the first half of the season Monday night as they end a five-game series at Gesa Stadium against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes and begin the second half at home with a three game set against the Spokane Indians on Tuesday.
