The Angels prospect required only 82 pitches to complete a two-hitter on Saturday night in the Double-A Arkansas Travelers' 3-1 win over the visiting Tulsa Drillers.
Arenas (4-7) retired the first nine Drillers before left fielder Corey Dickerson led off the fourth inning by sending an 0-2 pitch over the right-field fence. The 23-year-old right-hander also gave up a leadoff double to Angelys Nina in the seventh before retiring his final eight batters.
Arenas walked a batter and struck out two others while recording 10 outs on the ground and 11 in the air. Thanks to a pair of double-play balls, he faced one batter over the minimum.
A free-agent acquisition out of his Venezuela and a veteran of six Minor League seasons (four stateside), Arenas has two career complete games. He also went the distance when he gave up a run on seven hits in a Dominican Summer League victory on July 2, 2008.
Arenas is in his second straight season with the Travelers. He went 9-10 with a 4.48 ERA in 25 games in 2011 and has a 5.32 ERA through 19 games this year.
Dickerson's sixth homer had staked the Drillers to a 1-0 lead. But Arkansas answered in the bottom of the fourth as Ryan Mount drilled a go-ahead two-run shot and Carlos Ramirez delivered an RBI single.
Drillers starter Parker Frazier (4-11) was charged with all three runs on nine hits -- including Angels top prospect Jean Segura's fifth triple of the season -- over six innings.
