The last time the BlueClaws were shut out was on June 2nd at Kannapolis, but tonight could only muster six base hits against West Virginia. Chris Duffy went 2-for-4 and is now hitting .388 on the season with ten hits in his last three games.
Lino Martinez went six innings and allowed two runs, but picked up the loss for the BlueClaws. His record sits at 5-5 on the season.
The BlueClaws host West Virginia in Game 2 of the series Saturday night. Hoby Milner (1-2, 5.32) will take on Zach Von Rosenberg (3-3, 4.03) looking to even the series.
