D-backs No. 3 prospect Tyler Skaggs struck out 10 and gave up a run on six hits over seven innings as Reno edged Sacramento, 3-2. Newly acquired Tyler Bortnick was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored for the Aces, while Daric Barton had two hits and scored once for the River Cats.
Yangervis Solarte homered, doubled and scored twice to lead Round Rock to a 4-2 win over Memphis in the first game of a doubleheader. Julio Borbon also went yard and had two RBIs at the top of the lineup for the Express, while Justin Grimm pitched six strong innings for his first Triple-A win. Shane Robinson went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored for the Redbirds.

Billy Buckner allowed one hit over six innings as Pawtucket blanked Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, 4-0. Mark Prior, Daniel Bard and Chris Carpenter completed the shutout, while Red Sox No. 3 prospect Ryan Lavarnway went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Jack Cust's was one of the Yankees' two hits.

Brandon Waring drove in three runs for the Tides, while Rich Thompson was 3-for-4 with a triple, a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored out of the leadoff spot for the Bulls.
