Luis Exposito hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to give Norfolk a 7-6 victory over Durham. Exposito finished 3-for-6 with the homer, a double and two runs scored. L.J. Hoes collected three hits and No. 6 Orioles prospect Xavier Avery tripled and drove in three runs for the Tides. Will Rhymes and Cole Figueroa each collected three hits for the Bulls.
Rene Rivera hit a grand slam in the fourth and Chris Parmelee went 3-for-5 with two RBIs to power Rochester past Columbus, 7-2. Esmerling Vasquez (5-5) allowed two runs on four hits and a walk with six strikeouts in six innings to get the win for the Red Wings. Gregorio Petit doubled in a run for the Clippers.
John Maine (5-3) allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out two over seven scoreless innings to lead Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a 2-1 win over Pawtucket. Kosuke Fukudome and Ronnier Mustelier plated runs for the Yankees. Che-Hsuan Lin went 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Red Sox.
Rick VandenHurk (10-3) surrendered one run on seven hits and a walk with seven strikeouts over six innings to pitch Indianapolis to a 6-2 win over Buffalo. Yamaico Navarro homered for the Indians, and Jeff Clement doubled and picked up three RBIs. Mike Nickeas went 4-for-4 and Fred Lewis tripled, doubled and walked twice while leading off for the Bisons.
Argenis Diaz hit a game-winning two-run double in the bottom of the 11th to push Toledo past Louisville, 10-9. The Mud Hens overcame deficits in the ninth, 10th and again in the 11th to beat the Bats. Diaz finished with four RBIs and Jared Head and John Lindsey provided homers for Toledo. Cody Puckett hit a homer with two outs in the ninth for the third straight game to tie the game for the Bats.
Jayson Werth doubled in a run and Chad Tracy went 2-for-4 as the rehabbed duo helped Syracuse to a 3-2 win over Lehigh Valley. Zach Duke allowed two unearned runs on six hits and two walks with a strikeout over six innings without factoring into the decision and Carlos Rivero drove in two more runs for the Chiefs. Michael Martinez tripled and plated two runs for the IronPigs.
In the Pacific Coast League, Wil Myers, the Royals' No. 2 prospect, homered twice and drove in four runs as Omaha rallied past Oklahoma City, 7-6. Tony Pena tripled, doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice while Jeremy Jeffress earned his fifth win with two shutout innings of relief for the Storm Chasers. Recently acquired Matt Dominguez drove in two runs for the RedHawks.
Shelby Miller improved to 6-9 after striking out eight and allowing two runs on eight hits over seven innings as Memphis defeated Round Rock, 5-4. Steven Hill slugged a two-run homer and shortstop Ryan Jackson hit a solo shot for the Redbirds. Ryan Spilborghs was 2-for-4 with a homer in a losing effort for the Express.
Edwin Maysonet hit a walk-off single with two outs in the ninth as Nashville beat Albuquerque, 5-4. Caleb Gindl slugged a two-run homer and veteran hurler Claudio Vargas allowed three runs on eight hits over seven innings for the Sounds. Fernando Nieve fanned eight and allowed three runs on four hits over seven innings, but did not figure into the decision for the Isotopes.
Elih Villanueva gave up one run on four hits over six innings to earn his eighth win as New Orleans defeated Iowa, 5-3. Jose Duarte hit a pinch-hit two-run homer and Chris Coghlan was 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Zephyrs, winners of five straight. James Adduci went yard and drove in three runs in the loss for the Cubs.
Greg Smith yielded two runs on five hits and struck out seven over 6 2/3 innings as Salt Lake bested Las Vegas, 5-2. Trevor Crowe was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs while Matt Long reached base twice, scored a run and stole two bases for the Bees. Catcher Ryan Eigsti drove in a run for the 51s.
Adam Eaton was 4-for-5 with two RBIs and fell a triple shy of the cycle as Reno beat Sacramento, 9-7. Josh Bell slugged a two-run homer and A.J. Pollock was 2-for-4 with two runs scored to raise his average to .345 for the Aces. Catcher Anthony Recker was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and also fell a triple short of the cycle for the River Cats.
Guillermo Quiroz hit a three-run double as Tacoma rallied from an 8-0 deficit to beat Tucson, 11-8. Mike Wilson had three hits and drove in two runs while Alex Liddi reached base three times and scored twice for the Rainiers. Matt Clark homered twice and drove in four runs in a losing effort for the Padres.
