The Hens opened their first home stand against Rochester this season on a sour note, falling 4-1 to the Red Wings on Thursday night.
Thad Weber struggled early, allowing three runs on five hits in the second inning as the Red Wings took the lead. Weber settled down to earn a quality start in six innings of work.
The Hens offense struggled to get anything going off Liam Hendriks until the seventh, when Andy Dirks doubled in a run to cut the lead to 3-1.
Evan Bigley homered off Jose Ortega in the eighth to extend the Rochester lead back to three.
The Hens will look to rebound tomorrow in game two of their four game series with Rochester. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and Adam Wilk is slated to make the start for Toledo.
