The Legends scored a run in the first inning when Delino DeShields Jr. walked, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a ground out by Nolan Fontana. DeShields leads the South Atlanitc League with 81 steals.
Lexington added another run in the second inning on a single by Brandon Meredith, a balk, a wild pitch and a ground out by Emilio King.
The Legends scored their final run in the eighth inning. Justin Gominsky was hit by a pitch, moved to second on Cristian Moronta's single and scored on a single by DeShields.
The Suns broke through in the ninth against Legends' closer Dayan Diaz. Diaz retired the first two hitters, but Adrian Nieto drew a walk, and Brett Newsome and J.R. Higley followed with singles to score Nieto. Diaz then struck out Carlos Alvarez to end the game.
Foltynewicz (13-3) allowed two hits, struck out six batters and walked four in six innings. Murilo Gouvea relieved to start the seventh and pitched two scoreless innings. Diaz picked up his 17th save.
The Legends will have an off day Tuesday and will return home to open a four-game series against the West Virginia Power Wednesday night.
