The Timber Rattlers scored a run after a single by Cameron Garfield in the 1st to take a 1-0 lead, but the Kernels scored 15 unanswered runs.
In the 3rd inning three straight run scoring hits put the Kernels up 4-1. Eric Stamets drove in Drew Martinez with a RBI double. Alex Yarbrough's RBI single scored Stamets. Then, Andy Workman connected for a 2-run home run to left field.
The Kernels sent 9 hitters to the plate in the 4th inning and scored 5 runs to extend the lead to 9-1. Trevor Hairgrove's RBI groundout plated Abel Baker. Matt Scioscia scored on a RBI single by Eric Stamets. Andy Workman's RBI grounder pushed Drew Martinez across. Frazier Hall followed with a 2-RBI double, scoring Stamets and Yarbrough.
In the 6th, 7th, and 8th innings, the Kernels scored 2 runs each. Andy Workman's RBI single in the 6th inning brought Eric Stamets home. A throwing error on the play by Rattlers centerfielder Chadwin Stang allowed Alex Yarbrough to score.
Back to back RBI doubles in the 7th inning put the Kernels up 13-1. Drew Martinez's RBI double scored Matt Scioscia. A RBI double by Eric Stamets scored Martinez.
In the 8th inning Matt Scioscia's RBI groundout put Zach Borenstein across home plate. Then with two outs, Trevor Hairgrove reached on a fielding error by Wisconsin second baseman Carlos George, allowing Abel Baker to score.
The Kernels also tied a season-high with 7 doubles. Eric Stamets had 3 of his own while Frazier Hall, Alex Yarbrough, Drew Martinez, and Abel Baker each had 1.
Wisconsin's Chadwin Stang's 19-game hit streak came to end. The 15 runs and 18 hits for the Kernels were the most allowed by Wisconsin in a single-game this season.
