The Astros' top prospect collected four hits, including his 18th homer, three RBIs and three runs scored Saturday, leading Double-A Corpus Christi to a 12-4 romp over Springfield.

Singleton's second four-hit game of the season came a week after he went 5-for-14 with two homers and seven RBIs in a three-game series against the Cardinals. He followed that by going 0-for-6 in two games in Arkansas, but facing Springfield again brought his bat back to life.

Singleton staked the Hooks to a quick lead with a two-run blast in the top of the first. The Cardinals answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning, but the Texas League All-Star reached on an error and scored on a single by Bobby Borchering that capped Corpus Christi's six-run second.

Singleton came through with base hits in each of his next three at-bats before striking out in the ninth.

The 20-year-old first baseman boosted his average to .280 while extending his league lead with 86 runs scored. He's got four homers and 12 RBIs in 10 games against Springfield.

Andrew Simunic chipped in three hits and scored three times for the Hooks, Jake Goebbert drove in two runs and Astros' No. 17 prospect Austin Wates contributed a three-run homer.

The run support was plenty for Matt Heidenreich (2-1), who settled down after a shaky first and allowed three unearned runs on six hits over six innings.

Cardinals counterpart Scott McGregor (5-2) lasted 1 2/3 frames and was charged with eight runs -- five earned -- on four hits and three walks.

Oscar Taveras, St. Louis' No. 3 prospect, drove in two runs, while No. 4 prospect Kolten Wong doubled twice and scored twice.
