Sands finished 1-for-3 with two runs scored and Derrick Loop (11-3) earned the win with 6 2/3 scoreless frames, scattering three hits and three walks while striking out four. Shawn Bowman and Mike Cervenak each had two hits for the Zephyrs.

Top Mariners prospect Danny Hultzen fired off five no-hit innings, allowing one run on three walks with six strikeouts as Tacoma beat Reno, 4-2. No. 3 Seattle prospect Nick Franklin hit a solo homer and Alex Liddi added a two-run shot for the Rainiers. Cole Gillespie doubled and plated a run for the Aces.

Greg Rohan hit a three-run homer and added a double while No. 17 Cubs prospect Dave Sappelt drove in a run to lead Iowa over Memphis, 6-3. Adron Chambers went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks and two runs scored to pace the Redbirds.

Top Angels prospect Kole Calhoun went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs as Salt Lake beat Colorado Springs, 5-4. Ed Lucas added another RBI for the Bees. No. 5 Rockies prospect Tim Wheeler went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored for the Sky Sox.

No. 4 Kansas City prospect Jake Odorizzi (10-2) scattered one run on four hits and two walks with two strikeouts over seven innings to pitch Omaha to a 5-1 win over Nashville. No. 2 Royals prospect Wil Myers went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Irving Falu homered and scored twice for the Storm Chasers. Hiram Burgos (0-2) took the loss for the Sounds, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts over six frames.

Scott Richmond (10-7) limited Sacramento to one run on five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts to lead Las Vegas in a 9-4 win. Kevin Howard and Kenen Bailli homered for the 51s. Michael Taylor fell a triple short of the cycle while driving in three for the River Cats.

Fernando Abad surrendered two runs on six hits and a walk, fanning three of 5 1/3 innings without factoring into the decision as Oklahoma City topped Round Rock, 5-2. Carlos Corporan went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for the Red Hawks. Julio Borbon went yard for the Express.

In Game 1 of a doubleheader, Andrew Kown (6-7) tossed a seven-inning complete-game shutout, scattering four hits and a walk while striking out three as Fresno cruised ct Tucson, 5-0. No. 8 Giants prospect Conor Gillaspie went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs for the Grizzlies. Anthony Contreras led the Padres, going 2-for-3.

In the second game, Josh Spence tossed four two-hit innings, walking one and fanning three without factoring into the decision as Tucson earned a split with a 5-0 win. No. 4 Padres prospect Jedd Gyorko went 2-for-4 with a two-run shot and Sawyer Carroll went 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.

In the International League, rehabbing Major Leaguer Ryan Flaherty hit the go-ahead solo home run in Norfolk's 5-4 victory over visiting Charlotte. The 26-year-old finished 4-for-4 with two runs scored before being lifted for a defensive replacement in the ninth. Orioles' No. 12 prospect L.J. Hoes homered and drove in three runs. Dan Johnson gathered an RBI and a run scored for the Knights.

Denis Phipps homered twice and drove in six runs to lead Louisville over Columbus, 9-8. The Bats center fielder, who also added an outfield assist, finished 3-for-3 with a walk. Chris Valaika went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored. Russ Canzler homered, doubled, plated two and scored twice for the Clippers.

Billy Buckner allowed just one run on three hits in six innings in Pawtucket's 4-1 win over Buffalo. Pedro Beato earned the save in his first appearance with the Red Sox after coming over from the Bisons in the Kelly Shoppach deal. Jose Iglesias, who is batting .361 in his last 10 games, went 3-for-3 in the victory. Zach Lutz gave Buffalo its only run with a solo homer in the fourth.

A three-run blast by Brett Carroll in the seventh pushed Syracuse past Indianapolis, 5-3. Chiefs starter Kevin Pucetas earned the win in his International League debut, after allowing three runs and seven hits in seven frames. Pirates' No. 7 prospect Jeff Locke didn't factor into the decision after giving up two runs on four hits and striking out five in six innings on the hill. Dallas McPherson homered in his fifth game with the Tribe.

Josh Wilson hit a two-run single and Luis Durango added an RBI double in the top of the 11th as Gwinnett bested Durham, 13-10, in extra innings. Wilson tied teammate Stefan Gartrell, who was 2-for-5 with a home run, with a game-high three RBIs. Durango and Rusty Ryal led all batters, going 4-for-6 in the extended affair. Rays' No. 5 prospect Tim Beckham went 2-for-4 with a roundtripper and two RBIs.

Tigers' No. 14 prospect Adam Wilk struck out four and gave up one hit over five shutout innings in Toledo's 9-4 win at Lehigh Valley. The left-hander improved to just 6-11 with the Mud Hens despite a 2.86 ERA, sixth-best in the IL. Audy Ciriaco went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored in the victory. Pete Orr led the IronPigs with a double, two walks and three RBIs.

Veteran hurler John Maine scattered four hits in six shutout innings to help Scranton/Wilkes-Barre blank Rochester, 6-0. Corban Joseph put together his second straight three-hit game and led all batters with four RBIs. Red Wings right fielder Wilkin Ramirez was a perfect 4-for-4 with a stolen base in the loss.
