The Twins' No. 3 prospect recorded his first four-hit game in the Midwest League and drove in three runs Friday, leading Class A Beloit to an 8-2 victory over Peoria.

Rosario started his night with a bang, delivering an RBI double in the first inning, although he was thrown out trying to stretch it into a triple. He doubled home another run in the second, singled to center field in the fourth and homered in the sixth.

Needing that elusive triple to complete the cycle, he grounded out in the eighth.

"I was focused at the plate, looking for my pitches, and I approached the middle and opposite field," Rosario said through manager Nelson Prada, who served as a translator. "I was really focused and looking for middle-outside pitches, and I hit my pitches. I think it's the best game I've had all year. I didn't feel that comfortable before and I feel like I hit every ball square."

Rosario missed more than a month after being struck in the face by a line drive during batting practice. The 20-year-old second baseman required surgery, but everything has checked out since, according to Prada.

Despite sitting out from mid-June through the end of July, Rosario has put together a solid season for the Snappers, batting .302 with 11 homers and 63 RBIs. Prada thinks the totals would be even higher, given the way the 20-year-old second baseman/outfielder hits.

"I think he's having a good year. He's made good adjustments here," Prada said. "The fact that he lost a month, he lost 120 at-bats and those 120 at-bats, the way he hits, that's maybe 30 RBIs and maybe five or six homers. For me, it's pretty good the way he's been doing it."

Rosario also has had to adjust to a new position, spending much of the year at second after playing the outfield last year at Rookie-level Appalachian. He's committed 13 errors in 63 games on the infield but only four over his last 142 chances. While Rosario likes the new position, Prada was noted that where he plays in the future is unsettled.

"He's going to go to instructional league this year and we have to make a decision whether he stays at second or goes to center field," the manager said. "We have to have a good definition of where he is going to play. I think instructional league will be a good thing for him."

Nate Roberts tripled, doubled, scored three times and drove in two runs for the Snappers. Making his first start since July 21, Beloit's Steven Gruver (6-8) allowed two runs on three hits over five innings to earn the win.

Dustin Geiger had two hits, including a two-run homer, for Peoria.
