Danville, VA - The Greeneville Astros dropped their second straight game to the Danville Braves on Saturday night at Dan Daniel Memorial Park, 6-0. With the Astros falling to 35-30 on the season, they are now 2.5 games behind the Johnson City Cardinals for second place in the Appalachian League West and a spot in the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Braves are 35-26 and hold a 3.0 game edge for second in the East over the Princeton Rays.

The Braves got their first run in the third inning on a RBI-single by Levi Hyams. Then, later in the inning, a fielding error by Greeneville on an Aris Alcantara fly ball to left field allowed two more runs to score. In the fourth inning, following a Troy Snitker walk, Logan Robbins hit a two-run homer. Finally, Alcantara struck again with a RBI-single in the fifth inning to give the Braves a 6-0 lead.

The Astros did not get their first hit of the evening until a Marc Wik single in the sixth inning. Then, Carlos Correa hit for a double to give the Astros 120 on the season, breaking the club's single-season record. However, the Astros were unable to produce any runs after getting runners to second and third.

Danville's Maurice Cabrera (W, 2-2) gave up two hits, walked one and struck out one as he earned the win. Brandon Rohde and Patrick Scoggin combined to pitch the final three innings, giving up one hit and striking out five.
