"We are extremely excited to continue to develop players and staff members in the Tri-Cities," said Rockies Senior Director - Player Development Jeff Bridich. "Pasco has been a place we can send our younger players and know they'll be taken care of as they begin their professional careers."
The Dust Devils have been aligned with the Rockies since their inception in 2001. The Dust Devils have reached the Northwest League Championship Series in three of the last five seasons, while the Rockies reached Major League Baseball's postseason in two of those seasons with several former Dust Devils on their roster. The 2009 Dust Devils finished with a franchise-best record of 47-29, while the 2011 team won the franchise's first-ever post-season series in the Northwest League's expanded playoffs.
Current Rockies that played for Tri-City early in their professional careers include Jeff Francis, Josh Rutledge, Jordan Pacheco, Christian Friedrich, Rex Brothers, Juan Nicasio, and Charlie Blackmon.
"The Colorado Rockies have been a great partner of the Dust Devils on and off the field, and we are looking forward to more exciting years as a Rockies affiliate," said Dust Devils Vice President/General Manager Derrel Ebert.
