The all-time single-season stolen base champion on Friday was named "Best Hustler" as the league unveiled its postseason All-Star team.
MLB.com's No. 26 overall prospect was promoted to Double-A and joined the Pensacola Blue Wahoos on July 11. In only 46 games, he's registered a league-leading 50 stolen bases in 65 attempts.
On Aug. 22, Hamilton swiped three bases in the first three innings of a 4-2 loss to Montgomery to eclipse Vince Coleman's single-season record of 145. He's pushed that total to 154, including 104 with Class A Advanced Bakersfield.
The Mobile BayBears and Jackson Generals each boast three postseason All-Stars. Representing the Padres' Double-A affiliate are third baseman Matt Davidson and outfielder Marc Krauss and Alfredo Marte. The Generals' All-Stars are catcher Jesus Sucre, right-handed starter Brandon Maurer and closer Carter Capps.
The right side of the All-Star infield is comprised of first baseman Hunter Morris and second baseman Scooter Gennett, both of the Huntsville Stars. Rays top prospect Hak-Ju Lee of the Montgomery Biscuits got the nod at shortstop.
Joining Krauss and Marte in the outfield are Josh Fellhauer of the Blue Wahoos and Todd Cunningham of the Mississippi Braves. Montgomery's Omar Luna was selected as a utility player, while Mississippi left-hander Sean Gilmartin is the other pitcher.
